We are seeking a Commodity Quality Engineer (CQE) to join our Global Sourcing Quality team in Lund.
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for quality excellence? Do you thrive on shaping supplier capabilities, setting quality direction, and driving long-term improvements across a global supply chain?

This is a unique opportunity combining two exciting areas: ownership of supplier quality for Axis's Diecast commodity — a growing portfolio, suppliers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas and quality responsibility for Axis Ex AB, our ISO-certified production company delivering explosion-protected products for hazardous environments. Your focus will be strategic and proactive, building supplier capability, managing quality risks, and defining the quality direction for your areas.

Who is your future team?
Axis Sourcing is a team of highly skilled and motivated professionals working in an innovative and developing environment. We are a great contributor to our company's success, and besides establishing and developing our supplier base, we strive to maintain high growth in a market with strong competition. Reliable and efficient supply chains, quality assurance, and cost competitiveness are of great importance — and as a CQE, you will be at the heart of making that happen.

What you’ll do here as Commodity Quality Engineer?
Diecast Commodity — Supplier Quality Ownership

  • Supplier Capability: Plan and conduct risk-based supplier audits. Drive on-boarding of new suppliers. Define and implement supplier requirements.
  • Supplier Performance: Own quality metrics, lead quarterly quality review meetings, drive escalated cases and 8D reports, and lead supplier improvement programs.
  • Supplier Strategy: Define the supplier quality strategy for diecast. Give input to the commodity strategy on regionalization, second-source qualification, and supply chain resilience. Support compliance and sustainability goals.

Axis Ex AB — Production Quality

  • Ensure quality management and continuous improvement at Axis Ex AB's certified production, covering explosion-protected products designed by Axis Communications.
  • Maintain and develop the quality management system in line with ISO and applicable ATEX/IECEx certification requirements.
  • Act as the quality interface between Axis Ex & Supplier base.

Cross-functional

  • Coordinate with EMS partners, Configuration & Logic Centers, and manufacturing organizations on supplier-related quality topics.
  • Collaborate with Sustainability and Regulatory teams on RoHS, REACH, export compliance, and relevant quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF, IPC).

This role involves approximately 20–40 days of travel per year for supplier audits, assessments, and site visits.

Who are we looking for/Who are you?
You see the bigger picture and take initiative and drive continuous improvements of your daily work . You combine strong technical knowledge with strategic thinking, and you're equally comfortable leading a supplier audit as you are shaping a long-term commodity quality roadmap. You build trust with suppliers and internal stakeholders alike, and you influence decisions through data, insight, and collaboration. We encourage applications from both junior and engineers with several years of experience.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, quality management, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or a related role — ideally involving diecast, metalworking, or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, fishbone, 5 Why) and supplier improvement programs.
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, IPC) and environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills — able to interpret quality data, identify trends, and forecast risks.
  • Strong communication skills in English.

Meritorious qualifications

  • Understanding of die-casting processes, surface treatments, tooling, and component qualification methods (FAI, AQL, stress testing).
  • Experience with explosion-protected products and ATEX/IECEx certification requirements.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill) and ERP/analytics tools (e.g., IFS, Qlik, Power BI).
  • Certified Quality Engineer or Lead Auditor certification.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers or in a high-mix product environment.
